Juki MO-6814S
AVAILABLE
Overlock machine, clean, fresh oil, excellent. Stitch type 514. $1299
NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED, machine comes assembled so you will want a truck or van. We can help you get it in an suv if you want, but please call before you leave to make sure we'll be here and ready. All parts, tools and a bunch of needles included. This machine comes with Instruction Manual, Maintenance manual and Engineer's manual. It is currently set up to demonstrate and the thread will go with the machine. Bring your project and test it out!
This is a current model, $2480 typically, and you can still purchase it new from Juki dealers as a google search will show. It is in the Juki mobile app so you can see your maintenance and stuff.
Note that this machine makes only ONE stitch and does it very well and extremely fast, 7000 stitches per minute! This stitch is typically seen on the inside of most tops and pants made from one layer of light to medium weight fabric. For example, virtually all t-shirts are put together with this stitch. It is used in joining the sides of the body and joining the collar and sleeves to the body. It trims(cuts) the excess cloth and wraps the excess fabric in thread so it will be soft and comfortable to the wearer. If you've ever seen a factory worker make a t-shirt by joining the hemmed parts together in ten seconds, this is the machine they are using. People who do alterations sometimes use this machine to slim tops and pants because the resulting seam is very comfortable to the wearer.
From Juki:
The Juki MO-6800S Series responds to various kinds of sewing materials and processes, producing delicate and beautiful soft-to-the-touch seams while further reducing operating noise as well as increasing durability. This advanced overlock machine is easier to use and promises superior cost-effectiveness as well as the responsiveness from light- to heavy-weight materials with a lower applied tension.
This machine is intended solely for overlock stitching of light to medium weight fabrics. It is designed to perform at high speed with excellent reliability and consistency. With its differential feed capabilities, the MO-6814S is versatile enough to handle a wide range of fabric types, from stiff to stretchy. Sometimes an upholsterer is going to sew vinyl boat covers with a machine like this because it is a secure stitch, very nice looking on either side and the machine is much faster than many other machines. By wrapping the vinyl with thread on the underside of the seam it helps to protect the boat finish.
I do not recommend this machine for upholstery work because it is a #514 stich.
Upholstery you'd want a #516 which adds a safety stitch so that if your item is pulled apart at the seam you don't see the threads in the seam. I've attached a photo so you can see what happens when you sew vinyl versus cloth. When you sew a garment you typically use a matching thread and the seams don't show. Technically, you could use this machine to cover edges on various upholstery projects but you'd still want to stitch your seams with a straight lockstich.
This item is sold as a complete unit, which includes the machine head, table, motor, sewing light, drawer, trim chute, four thread stand, four spools of thread and all necessary components installed and ready to sew. Please be advised that this is used industrial equipment. Minor blemishes and scratches may exist but there are no defects or deficiencies in the operation of the unit!
Great condition. In tune, has sharp trimming blade.
BRING YOUR PROJECT and try before you buy. We can deliver, call to ask about terms.

Singer No. 66
SOLD

Serial No. AH931320

This Machine has a bad motor. Sourcing one has been a bit pricy lately, so we haven't gotten one yet. It runs, but smokes. Comes with multiple bobbins, many interesting feet, and a buttonholer.

This machine can absolutely stitch leather, but you will need a middleweight thread, as heavy threads don't work well in the bottom bobbins.

Brother Lock 1030D
SOLD

This machine is perfectly functional, and has never been heavily used or repaired. We acquired it years ago for prototyping before upgrading to an industrial Juki machine.
